User Profile

Welcome to the Game. We use the Serenity RPG rules published by Margaret Weis Productions. House rules are as follows.

-Every post is a new turn or scene. A turn is a single action of a combat scene. Example, "Three of Niska's thugs kick open the door and fire wildly into the crowded bar." You may comment once in these posts to describe your characters response. Once that turn is resolved, (I'll roll all the dice so don't worry), then the next combat turn will be posted up. A scene is a non-combat section of story and usually involves lots of talking. You may post multiple times to these posts. Example, "You walk into Badgers sorry excuse for an office flanked by two heavily armed guards. He motions for you to sit and you know you're going to have to explain dumping that cargo."
Depending on how you roleplay a scene might develop into a combat turn so the two will be clearly marked so theres no confusion as to why you've suddenly been shot.

-Only approved characters will be allowed to comment. If you want to play check this journals first post and submit a character. If you don't know how then ask and the Storyteller will help you.

-One character per person. I might ask people to play NPC's now and then but thats rare.

-If you talk out of character please put it in brackets. (Like this.)

-Twinks will be fed to Reavers.

-Alliance/Blue Sun affiliated characters are restricted. Heavily.

-Companions and their perfectly legitimate trade are restricted. Ask in advance if you really want to play one. I don't want you rolling up a full character only to be rejected out of hand. If a Companion plays out any, errr, business then I run the Fade to Black rule. The camera gets all fuzzy and trails away before you see any naughtiness. If you want to blue book it outside of this journal thats your call and I wish you many fat children.

-No racism, sexism, anti-semitism, homophobia or any attacks on peoples cultures or beliefs. If you fuck with this rule I swear by my pretty floral bonnet I will end you.

-Most of us are adults. If you're not then thats fine. Youth is a wonderful thing that is gone to fast. However, if you want to play then be mature about it. We are not your parents, guardians, teachers, mentors or role models and we are under no obligation to put up with juvenile crap. You'll simply be banned because it's not our job to deal with you.

-Certain merits and complications are restricted. Wears a Badge being a gorram big one. Check with me first before building a shiny new character around anything you think might cause a problem.

-Chinese is encouraged. If you could post a translation in brackets arfterwards though it'd be a big help to those who don't actually speak Mandarin. I'll post up a list of commonly used chinese phrases later.

-Slang with a westerny feel to it is also encouraged. You've watched the show. You know what I mean.

-The Storyteller has the final word. No exceptions.

-More rules may be added as and when you screw up. :)
